Covering a wide spectrum of challenging musical repertoire, their selections include contemporary choral music settings, traditional hymn favorites, gospel music and choral pieces with an ethnic flavor. This ensemble accompanied by instrumentalists and actors and narrators also leads the congregation in worship for special services during the church year, and presents inspirational cantatas during Holy Week and Christmas seasons.

Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings 7:00 – 8:30 PM.

Vocal Ensembles

Smaller vocal ensembles occasionally perform at the 8:30 and 11:00 AM services. Groups and individuals are encouraged to share their talents in traditional and contemporary mixed choral, quartet, and soloist selections.

Sanctuary Ringers

The Sanctuary Ringers is an eleven-member adult handbell ensemble that provides music monthly for the 8:30 and 11:00 AM services. Their repertoire consists of intermediate and advanced handbell selections for three-octave Malmark handbells and choir chimes including hymn settings and medleys, original contemporary handbell music, rhythmic African American Spirituals and more.

Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons from 1:15 – 2:30 PM.

Instrumentalists of a wide range of ages and capabilities are welcome to perform solos or play in ensemble during the worship service and for other events at the church. Both amateur and professional instrumentalists accompany the Chancel Choir in anthems or special presentations. Please contact us if you are interested in offering your time and talent to this special ministry.

Cantate Choir

The Cantate Choir is a music ensemble for students in grades 2 – 5. Singing in the Cantate choir will develop many skills simultaneously, such as self-confidence, an enhanced ability to listen critically, a sense of teamwork (each singer in the choir is of equal importance), greater mind/eye coordinationbreath control, knowledge/reinforcement of music fundamentals (which can then be applied to any other instrument or musical vocation later in life), and last, but certainly not least, our choristers will be learning and developing personal connections to the hymns and songs that lie at the heart of our faith.

This group will meet every Wednesday night from 6:00pm – 6:45pm in the choir room (C7), and is led by Tish Davenport.  (Holiday or other exceptions will be noted on the church calendar)

Cherub Choir

The Cherub Choir is a choral ensemble for children ages 4 – 1st grade. The fun and entertaining exercises and games employed with this young choir encourage enhanced coordination through music and movement and lay the foundation for continuing on to Cantate choir (or school music programs) with important singing, listening, and rhythmic skills.

This choir meets every Wednesday night from 6:00pm – 6:45pm in the Children’s Church classroom (C6), and is led by Kathy Perry.  (Holiday or other exceptions will be noted on the church calendar.)

The Liturgical Dance ensemble joins in fellowship on a regular basis to rehearse and praise God through choreographed movements to contemporary praise and worship music as well as songs performed by our choir.  We utilize techniques from ballet, interpretive dance and praise movements while incorporating props such as ribbons, flags and even Palm branches!  Our group is quite diverse including boys and girls ages 3 and up through adults.  Anyone who has an interest in using movements as a form of praise would be a great addition to our group!

Flames – Slower, beginner movements that will be challenging yet set a worshipful mood for the dancer and audience. Choreography sections will be shorter and will occasionally utilize flags and dance streamers.

Crosses – More technically challenging movements. The choreography will typically be full songs and will regularly utilize flags and dance streamers.
