Slightly Bad Girls of The Bible Study

Meets Sunday at 9:45 AM
Starts September 7th

7-week course

Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible is the latest of Liz Curtis Higgs’ “girlfriend theology” Bible study. Combining contemporary fiction with a verse-by-verse commentary, she explores the “slightly bad” lives of a few Old Testament women—Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, Rachel. Far from evil, yet slightly bad, these women from the book of Genesis stubbed their toes along the rocky path of righteousness. Sound familiar? These ancient sisters aren’t a whole lot different from us. Laced with humor and built on solid research, this book will bring you to the realization that God loves you just the way you are. Flaws and all! Each chapter concludes with a series of questions for personal reflection.

‘CURRENT EVENTS’ STUDY

Meets Sunday, at 2:00 PM in Fellowship Hall
Starts August 10th

All are welcome to join this class at anytime, the only materials needed are a bible-and we have plenty of those if you forget!

Are you interested in discussing how to address and respond to current events as a Christian? Join us as Pastor Mike Miller facilitates the discussion.  Please note: the goal of the class is to study scripture and discuss how it relates to our modern day issues without getting into political viewpoints.

MONDAYS

Disciple I StudyDisciple I

Starts September 8th

Meets Monday at 6:30-9:00 PM
32-week course

DISCIPLE is a program of disciplined Bible study aimed at developing strong Christian leaders. The study gives the Old and New Testaments equal time emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. DISCIPLE draws upon the work of scholars, the personal Bible reading and study of the participant, and dynamic group discussion to aid understanding of the Bible.

The first study in the program is DISCIPLE: Becoming Disciples through Bible Study. It serves as the basis for all other studies in the DISCIPLE family that follow. Over the course of 34 weeks, the study covers the entire Bible (Old and New Testaments) following the biblical story from Creation to the New Jerusalem.

This Movie Bible Study examines five different spiritual, moral, or ethical issues from the movie. Next, students encounter relevant Bible passages, with each section ending with discussions about how God’s Word explains those issues and guides our thoughts and behavior.
